Officially amazing: School of Seven Bells
again, I am late to the game on this one, but their latest album is spectacular. I listen to I L U everyday, almost on repeat. The lyrics are so beautiful(ly sad) and the melody is so sweet. It’s pretty much a perfect song.

Back to their latest album, Disconnect from Desire. Apparently, there are many who feel that their first album (Alpinisms) is far superior to this latest one, and having listened to both, I have no idea what the fuck these people are on. Alpinisms is decent, it has a cool unique sound, but has none of the strong melodies of Desire. It’s not so much that Desire is more “accessible” as it is a more mature, and a better crafted album (lyrics, melodies, instrumentation). It’s so obvious. Seriously, what are people smoking?

Anyways, they’re opening for Interpol on their US/Canada tour and now I am very tempted to go see them. $45 is kind of hefty though. I’m not that interested in seeing Interpol, unless they do a “Antics” heavy setlist, which I doubt will happen.
Whatever, I’m going to go listen to I L U again.
