Starcraft Commentators – Day(9)
so in contrast to my love letter to HuskyStarcraft I’m going to talk about another caster, Day(9). This dude is HARD CORE. It’s the only way to describe him. Huskystarcraft is like a sports highlights commentator – he just describes what is happening in the game, makes some really funny jokes, is super cute, and calls it a night.
Day(9) on the other hand is like the professor of Starcraft 2. His vidoes are usually 40-60 mins long – and this is not because the games he casts are that long, it’s because he goes off on tangents and just talks, forever. He will actually break down the gameplay for you and have insight into strategies, and talk in detail about what the players are doing, and what it all means, how it will impact that game, and how you can incorporate it into your own gameplay. This guy is like … the Plato of Starcraft. It is unreal, his enthusiasm and commitment to detail in his casts are much respected. Yes, it is also very hot.
This is one of my favourite casts of his, with the crazy marauder medivac bomb drop on banelings. BAD FUCKING ASS!
Hmm….you seem to have a lot of geek sexual tension. Interesting. Although I do like Day9 and Husky, I also think they are both huge dorks (although Husky’s Banelings song definitely made him cooler).
what is Starcraft without some epic sexual geek tension lol
Day9 is amazing to listen to while at work – you can just leave it on in the background and have him spew knowledge at you. And I like the Q&A he does after his casts. Husky is way too hyper and I get distracted when he starts yelling about psi storms and baneling rolls :)
